English Racing takes Paul Nelsons car to a new level

So after a Sema we pulled Pauls motor apart to freshen it up and make a few changes to see if we could make some more hp.

The car this year from the tunner stand point (Lucas English)

On the dyno the car was making amazing power very easy over last year. On our 1st pulls on WG line at 27psi the car was very close to 800whp on low timing and just starting to get the boost up we were over 1000whp at 35psi. On our 15-20 dyno pulls we were over 1020whp on all of them. Our 1079whp was at 46psi and low timing 9-12deg ware as last year at out 1014 we were at 53psi at close to 18deg timing out the top. This year I am trying to really take baby steps and not really crank the hp till the driving and track conditions are just right.

Changes for 2008 to make some more hp

  • 10:1 JE pistons to help with hp and spool (was 8.5:1)
  • 76mm 45R turbo machined to fit in 42R housings (All turbo stuff
    sponsored by Extreme Turbo Systems)
  • Water to Air Intercooler (Sponsored by Extreme Turbo Systems)
  • GSC C&C ported head (Sponsored by GSC Cams)
  • GSC S3 Cams (Sponsored by GSC)
  • Kiggly beehive valve springs (Semi Sponsored by English Racing)
  • Weight reduction -Driven Inavation intake manafold (Sponsored by
    Driven Inavation)
  • Electric water pump
  • Hard block all the way full with coolant ran only
through the head. Cooling is not bad either. We start the passes in the
160deg range and end in the 190deg area and can still drive it back to
the pits with out it getting over 210deg. Here is a vid of the 1079whp
and English Racing 479whp stock turbo
